This is a re-post of an earlier article. Our original Military Appreciation Night got rained out….check out the new date!! PS: it will also be senior night for the girls softball team.
At Jimtown we appreciate our military service members. Those currently serving and those that have served. Freedom is not free and we feel that it is our duty to teach that to the younger generations.
With those sentiments in mind, Jimtown Softball will host a “Military Appreciation Night” on Monday, May 18th at our home varsity game vs LaVille. As we have done in the past, (most recently at Boys Basketball this past winter) we will partner with the Michiana Blue Star Mothers to collect items that can be sent to our deployed troops in the form of care packages. These are everyday items that help our military members feel perhaps a little less homesick or in some way make their lives easier. They are small tokens of appreciation for their service to us, but they mean so much to the troops.
Each individual that brings a care package item or items on this list will be admitted to the game for free. In addition, we will have a brief recognition and moment of silence in honor of the sacrifices that have been made by our military on our behalf.
Come on out on Friday, May 8th. Bring an item or two. Show your appreciation and support! Thank you.
