Jimtown uses big fifth inning to beat Bethany Christian, 12-2

An eight-run explosion in the fifth inning carried Jimtown to a 12-2 win in five innings over Bethany Christian on Friday.

Jimtown scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Katie Woods, an error, a passed ball, a two-run single by Ashley Alvey, a two-run triple by Allie Geier, and a passed ball.

Woods was hot from the plate for Jimtown. Woods went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs.

Allie Geier got the win for Jimtown. She allowed two runs over five innings. She struck out three, walked three and surrendered six hits.

J Helmuth was charged with the loss. She allowed 12 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out one.

Jimtown didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the fourth inning when it scored on three singles.
