Multiple Teams · Jimtown Wrestling looking to finish strong in IHSAA Sectional

The Jimmies have had a GREAT year in wrestling during the 2015-2016 school year.  The Jimmies won or finished very high in several tournaments including championships in the Jimtown Super Duals, Bremen Super Duals, a runner-up finish in the state in 2A for the IHSWCA State Team Duals, a 2nd place finish in the super-tough NIC Championships and undefeated head-to-head matches with NIC opponents.  Overall, in head-to-head matches, Jimtown is 21-2 for the season.   Kenny Kerrn was the 145 pound champion at the prestigious Al Smith Classic in Mishawaka.

NOW….that is the past.  What lies before the Jimmies this Saturday (January 30th) is a chance at a sectional championship and a chance to advance many wrestlers to the regional level.  While we have had many success that we are proud of …it has all been leading up to this Saturday.

Wrestling starts at 9:00am at Elkhart Memorial High School.  This is a seeded tournament and not a team, head-to-head tournament.  This means that wrestlers at each weight class can advance as individuals in that weight class, but the higher each class finishes it scores points for the team.  If enough of our weight classes finish as champs or a high finish, we score more points.

Even if you have not made it to a wrestling event this year, you can still help to support our kids.  They do hear your cheers—feel your energy and gain strength from it.   Tickets for all day are only $6.00.
