The Jimtown Boys Basketball team has picked the right time to start playing some our best ball all season. Jimtown picked up the win at home vs South Bend Clay by a final score of 77-60.
The Jimmie Seniors were recognized on Friday, February 19th at Cook Court for 4 years of hard work, dedication and loyalty to our community. Seniors, Dylan Guldager, Trevor Hobbs, Tevin Klosinski, Danny Garner, Jake Vicsik, Blane Bender and Clay Landis responded with a great game. Jimtown lead at the end of each period and ended up having the highest offensive output of the season (77 points). Dylan Guldager scored 26 points while leading Jimtown from the point. The high-low game was also in sync Friday night as big-man Trevor Hobbs repeatedly tortured the Colonials inside, scoring 20. Jimtown got the usual great effort from Sam Pawlak (11 points), Jake Vicsik (4 points) and Blane Bender (7 points). Danny Garner had a defensive gem of a game for the Jimmies. Danny scored 8 points, but was always in on most defensive stops, rebounded and harassed the Colonial guards throughout the game. Our guys are starting to figure out that it is really the unsung heroes that are willing to do the little things and not necessarily get the glory, who are ultimately going to help us win basketball games.
Jimtown will finish the regular season with a road game to the “Palace” at Penn High School on Tuesday the 23rd. The JV game will begin at 6:15pm. In addition, Jimtown hosts the IHSAA 3A sectional #19 at Cook Court on March 1, 4 and 5.
