Multiple Teams · Jimmies get it done at the Palace

Jimtown got a big win on Tuesday the 23rd at the Penn Palace.  The 58-45 win over the Kingsmen ends the regular season on a great high note as the Jimmies grab some invaluable momentum going into sectional #19 play next Tuesday.

The Jimmies’ win at Penn capped the end of the year with 4 game winning streak.  Jimtown got 23 big points from Dylan Guldager and and 15 from Sam Pawlak.  The Kingsmen were determined to double and triple team big-man Trevor Hobbs, which opened up the outside shot and slashing drives for the Jimmies.

Things did not look so good for Jimtown right out of the gate as the Kingsmen opened up a 7-0 lead right immediately, as the Jimmies could not get the lid off of the basket.  Jimtown, however hung right in there on great hustle plays and intensity on defense.  Jimtown repeatedly used their length to harass, distract and deflect Kingsmen passes and shots. The Jimmies did struggle from the line in the first half as they had opportunities to score from the charity stripe, but just could not seem to get anything to fall in the hole.  Down the stretch,, however, at crunch time, Jimtown made their free-throws to put the game away.

There were 5 lead changes and Penn lead 20-17 at the half. Midway through the 3rd quarter, Penn opened up a 6 point lead on the Jimmies, but Jimtown did not flinch and hit some big shot to tie it up and eventually take the lead and then hold on for the win.

Jimtown fans now hope that these last 4 wins will carry the momentum for the Boys of Baugo into the post season.  Jimtown has the home court advantage in the sectional and hopefully we can use it to our benefit.

Jimtown will take on Culver Academy  in the second game of the sectional on Tuesday, March 1st.  The game will be 20 minutes after the first game, which features John Glenn vs Mishawaka Marian.
