The Jimtown boys track team–especially Sammy Pawlak– reached new heights against Riley, Washington and Marian.
Sam leaped 6 feet 5 inches breaking the 46 year old record set by Bob Spaugh back in 1970. It is a very impressive feat which was missed by many great high jumpers at Jimtown over the years. Congratulations Sammy! Sammy’s performance may have overshadowed some other great feats at the meet.
Dalton Whitman won the shot put with his personal best of 46′ 2.5″. Kenny Kerrn took both hurdle races again. The short relay team consisting of Kenny, Dalton, Alex Hohl and Max Magyar took first and had its best time of the year. Other great performances were turned in by: Jake Vicsik in the 1600; Aaron Burnett in long jump; the 1600 relay team consisting of Kenny, Jake, Matt DeCloedt and Clay Landis; Dylan Runyan in pole vault;Brian Hernandez in the 800; Andrew O’Brien in long jump; and Nick Trevino, Clay, Brian and Bryce Track in the 3200 meter relay.
The boys are in action Friday at the Kelly Relays
