Our boys track team won the second annual Falcon Invitational (now called the Dennis Rippey Invitational), easily outdistancing second place Knox by 55 points.
The Jimmies placed first and second in 4 events–the 110 high hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles, the 200 meter dash, and the high jump– and it was on the strength of those events that the Boys of Baugo went on to dominate. The 1-2 punch of Kenny Kerrn and Alex Hohl took both hurdle events. Kenny became the 2 in another 1-2 punch as he and Brandon Burkhart stole the 200 meter dash. Sammy Pawlak remained undefeated in the high jump with Caaden Beck taking second place.
The relay teams all performed well. The 1600 relay team took the last race of the night in dramatic fashion as Matt Decleodt held off 3 pursuing teams. Riley Lundy, Jared Lyle, and Aaron Burnett rounded out that relay squad. The 3200 meter relay team consisting of Nate Hochstetler, Jared, Kris Waycaster, and Matt had its best time of the year and placed 3rd. The 4 X 100 relay team featuring Mike-Mike Williams, Oscar Zelaya, Kenny and Brandon placed second by less than 2 tenths of a second.
Nate also placed 2nd in the 1600 meter run and 6th in the 800 and Seth Grimm ran a personal record in the 800 by 4 seconds. Matt was 3rd the in 400 dash. Aaron was 3rd in the long jump and 4th in the 400 meter dash. Dalton Whitman was second in Discus and 4th in shot put. Dylan Runyan and Aaron Reverman placed 4th and 5th in pole vault. Kris Waycaster and Jon Wiggins were 4th and 7th respectively in the 3200 meter run, both running excellent times. Mike-Mike Williams was 5th in the 100 meter dash.
It was a great team win with many great performances and the Jimmies were quite joyous after receiving the trophy.
