Girls Varsity Golf · Girls Golf Finishes Regular Season with Awards Night

On Thursday, September 14th, the Girls Golf team held their Senior Night and Awards Banquet at McCormick Creek Golf Course. The ceremony  started by honoring our two seniors, Emily Chupp and Kennedy Hill,  with roses and recognizing their families. This was followed by a carry-in dinner with pulled pork, mac & cheese, salads, a variety of side dishes and more desserts than anyone could eat.  After dinner the awards ceremony took place. We honored our two seniors Emily Chupp and Kennedy Hill and they were presented with baskets of gifts and momentos from the golf team. The personal letters brought tears to their eyes. After the gift baskets, the awards were presented. Kennedy Hill was presented with a trophy for being a member of Jimtown’s first golf team. Emily Chupp, a first year participant in golf was presented with her varsity letter, a team and personal picture. Other first year participants who recieved their varsity letter, team and personal pictures were Hannah Skibbe and Jenna Gillingham. Mackenzie Lehman and Courtney Kohler recieved their third year varsity letter. Emilie Jaskolka received her second year varsity letter. Special trophies were presented next. The Most Pars Trophy went to Mackenzie Lehman. She had 36 pars in the 99 holes she played. The Mental Attitude Trophy went to Courtney Kohler. Her positive attitude towards golf, helping first year players, and the go to person on the team made her an easy pick. The Challenger Trophy went to Emily Chupp.  The Challenger Trophy is given to the person who,  through their play, makes other team members better players.  The Most Improved Trophy was won by Emilie Jaskolka. Her average score last year was 62 and this year she improved 10 strokes for a 52 average. Again the Most Valuable Trophy went to Mackenzie Lehman. This is the third year she has won this trophy. She had a 42 nine hole average. She was our number one golfer and her scores neutralize our opponents number one golfer. Mackenzie also made the NIC second team, placing 8th, with a 9.4 handicap. This ended our cerermony.   Congratulations to all our golfers. A special thanks go out to their families for all the support during the season.  Our next outing will be the sectionals at Cobblestone Golf Course.
