Jimmies News · Jimtown Swim Team Notches some High Places in 1st ever Co-Ed Meet

Last night (Tues, Nov 27th) was a an historic day for Jimtown Athletics.  Jimtown participated in our first ever swim meet for both boys and girls.   The meet was held at South Bend Washington High School and we swam against South Bend Washington and South Bend Clay.

Jimtown had 5 girls and 7 boys that swam last night in the meet.  Too few in numbers to seriously compete for the overall win, however swimming (like wrestling or track) is also an individual sport.  There are individual accomplishments and then they tally a team score at the end.  On the individual side, we had some accomplishments on this historic night for which we would be remiss if we did not celebrate.

9th grader, Elizabeth Zerfas won the 200 and 500 freestyle.
12th grader, Carson Slabaugh won the 200 free.
11th grader,  Kanyon Hamby won the 100 free.
The relay teams of Aliyah Gordy, Mackenzie Stewart, Alaina Anthony, and Elizabeth Zerfas and the guys team of Zach Treadway, Ted Kissingler, Carson Slabaugh and Kanyon Hamby both places second in the 200 freestyle relay.
Congratulations, guys and gals!!   We are proud of you guys.  It is never easy doing something new like this—especially when you have to ride in a bus every day, just to practice.   You are doing it and you are making the school proud!!   Great Job!!
