We are pleased to announce that Jamie Lawson signed her scholarship offer on Wednesday, October 2nd in a brief signing ceremony in the Jimtown High School lobby to continue her athletic and academic career locally—-right here at Bethel College.

Jamie has been a 4 year basketball player for Jimtown.  Throughout her 3 completed years at Jimtown (4th year yet to come), Jamie has been the highest point scorer for the Lady Jimmies.

Jimtown has been in serious “rebuilding” mode over the last few years as we get our feeder programs and interest in the sport of basketball back up to where it should be.  This has been an arduous process and a challenge for our coaching staff.   Jamie Lawson has been a ROCK in this process.  Many other kids in her situation would have jumped ship (and many, many did) as they did not want to put themselves out there on the court to potentially play with a losing team.    Quitting on people and being disloyal to her teammates is not in Jamie’s DNA.   She stuck it out as a leader to represent her school, family and community despite the fact that the wins have been scarce.   We appreciate it!!

Bethel College is a perfect fit for Jamie.  Besides her athleticism and tenaciousness….Jamie is an EXCELLENT student.  She carries a ridiculous 4.17 GPA (4.0 would be straight A’s) and is ranked 9th in her class.   Her academics already make Jamie a catch for the Bethel Pilots, but add in her basketball skills and the tremendous potential for continued athletic improvement…well…Bethel is getting a great young lady!!

Good luck to Jamie Lawson at Bethel College.

We wish you well and know that you will be successful in all of the endeavors that you put your mind to!!
