Baugo Community Schools and Jimtown High School are proud to announce the hire of two new coaches that will be joining the coaching ranks at Jimtown for this coming fall.
With the craziness that has swallowed up everything over the last few months, this process has been a little different and certainly more delayed than we want, but our coaches are now in place. Recruiting kids to play on squads this fall will have to be online and ongoing through June.
Practices and workouts will be set to begin after July 1 (per the Indiana Governor’s Order)
Congratulations to Susan Rathwick who will become the new head volleyball coach at Jimtown. Coach Rathwick will be replacing outgoing coach, Bill Stose. Mrs. Rathwick will also be a teacher at Jimtown High School. She brings an incredible resume’ to Jimtown in the area of Biology and Medical Sciences. She will be an immediate contributor to our academic offerings at Jimtown for kids who will be looking to go into the medical field. (See Coach Rathwick’s bio information below). It is rare to find a teacher so highly credentialed that also experienced in coaching and has coached for as long as she has. Jimtown is lucky to have her!!
My name is Susan Rathwick. I was raised in Mishawaka and have lived in South Bend for nineteen years. I have three boys. My youngest is graduating from St. Joe High School. I have taught at Washington High School for sixteen years. Washington High School is a Medical Magnet School. In addition to teaching, I was the Science Department Chair and The Medical Magnet Coordinator. I taught Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, AP Biology, and all the PLTW (Project Lead the Way) Biomedical Science courses. I recently earned my Master’s Degree in Education, with eighteen graduate Biology credits from Indiana Wesleyan. I received my bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and graduated from Mishawaka High School. I played basketball and volleyball when I attended Mishawaka High School. While working at Washington, I coached the Varsity Volleyball team for ten years. I look forward to working with Jim town students and staff.
Welcome Coach Rathwick!! We look forward to being a role model and mentor for many of our young ladies at Jimtown.
Congratulations also to Courtney Bradley who will become the new head Girls Soccer coach at Jimtown. Coach Bradley will be replacing Kalen Saddler who has moved on to coach at the college ranks at Ancilla College. Courtney and her husband live in Jimtown and have kids that attend Jimtown Schools. Coach Bradley is a stay at home mom, but that does not mean that she is inexperienced or not ready to take Jimtown Girls Soccer to the next level. While this will be her first high school team, Coach Bradley has had many years of coaching experience at the club level. (see Coach Bradley’s bio information below).
Hello, I am Courtney Bradley- I am very excited to take over as head coach of the girls varsity soccer team and continue grow the program. Our family has been part of the Jimtown community for about three years and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to make Jimtown our home. I’m married and have 3 children. My husband, Eric, coaches girls basketball at Jimtown Intermediate where our two daughters, Kendall and Aubrey, are in the 5th and 3rd grades. Our son, Ashton, is finishing his freshman year at ONU. I am an artist and have had my own business for the last 12 years. Soccer has been a big part of my life having played most of my childhood and now having two daughters that compete year-round in club soccer and multiple offseason teams. I played for several clubs myself while growing up in New York and Texas and played for Penn High School upon moving to Indiana. I’ve enjoyed coaching my children on their teams over the last seven years in different organizations and I am looking forward to my girls coming up through the Jimtown program. I cannot wait to help build enthusiasm and interest in soccer in the Jimtown community and with our younger Jimmies. I know I have big shoes to fill, Coach Kalen Saddler is amazing, and I am so excited to get started.
Welcome Coach Bradley!! We are so excited to have you at Jimtown. You have an incredible group of girls and parents to work with. I know that you will receive a tremendous amount of support as you mentor our kids and teach them the game of soccer.
Parents and Students: Please pay attention to information that will come your way via email and social media regarding the formation of teams There will be opportunities to start getting together in July (assuming everything stays on track with the Gov. Re-opening plans) for workouts and skill building.
