Coach Stork,”Carmen has been a standout member of the swim team for the last three years, consistently going above and beyond at practice and demonstrating dedication to improving her skills. She brings a positive attitude to every session, cheers on teammates, and offers help when others need it, which strengthens team morale and contributes greatly to a supportive team culture.” Carmen does not have plans for after high school yet. Her favorite memory is coming straight from a dance to a basketball game, not starting and being late, but still having a career high in points. Combining both of my favorite sports to do all in one day was challenging but worth it. Coach Williams, "On the basketball court, Kiera is the definition of consistency and versatility. She leads our team in scoring, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage, while also ranking second in steals, third in assists, and fourth in rebounds. Quiet by nature but fierce in competition, she is a versatile scorer who can shoot from the outside, score in the midrange, or attack the rim. Kiera posted a career-high 23 points against SB Riley and was our most consistent player all season. She takes great pride in her defense and is often asked to guard the opponent’s best player. What truly sets Kiera apart is her growth as a leader. This season, she elevated both her game and her voice, becoming our most reliable and consistent player. She is shifty and skilled enough to step outside the arc with a soft touch, and physical enough to battle inside. Her leadership and versatility played a major role in helping our team triple our win total from last season. We are incredibly proud of Kiera and excited for what’s ahead as she prepares for her senior season. Kiera Jackson represents everything we hope for in a student-athlete, and we are proud to celebrate her as our Kiwanis Athlete of the winter." As a teenager, it can be hard to juggle school, practice, games, friends, family, volunteering for various things for the community, etc. Will handles all of these things with grace. I have coached a lot of young men over the years and can easily say Will is the most selfless and hardest working kids I have ever coached. He is always willing to go the extra mile for others and his school. He leads by example and his work ethic is second to none. Will is an excellent choice for the overall Kiwanis award.” Will plans on attending to play at Judson University in Illinois and as of now plans to major in business.
