Great balance propels Jimmies to EZ win over Knox By Red Williams Freelance Sportswriter KNOX – Three players hit double figures as Jimtown High School halted a four-game losing streak Friday night (1/10/25) with a 63-21 victory over the Knox Redskins. “We’re happy with the effort the guys made in executing the game plan,” explained Coach Tyler Leighton by text. “We still need to improve our rebounding. “I think we’ve found a recipe for success with our motion offense and full-court pressure defense, without fouling,” he added. Unbelievably, the Jimmies held Knox to just two points in the first and final quarters. Leighton said the Jimmies forced the Redskins into 28 turnovers, while Jimmies had only 8. Branden King led the onslaught for the Jimmies with 19 points (including three triple-pointers) and six rebounds. Dylan Fey followed with 17 and eight boards, and Will Spurgeon tossed in 14. The stifling defense of Jimtown prevented none of the Redskins to exceed six points. The Jimmies shot 45 percent from the floor and held Knox to 27 percent., but the Redskins topped Jimtown in rebounding, 32-28. Jimtown will have three straight home games in the next week: Culver Military comes calling on Friday (1/17), followed by South Central on Saturday and a big rivalry contest vs. Concord on Tuesday (1/21). All tip off at 7:30 pm. Score by quarters: Jimtown 19 22 14 8 = 63 Knox 2 11 6 2 = 21
