Kiwanis Athletes of the Fall 2025

Congratulations to Baylea Creech (volleyball), Elliott DiPiro (soccer), Chase Coughenour (football), and Dalton Cook (tennis) for being awarded the Kiwanis Athlete Award. This award goes to student athletes who have excelled in the areas of athletics, academics, and volunteering. Baylea Creech - Volleyball Baylea Creech is a Senior at Jimtown. She is the daughter of Tim and Amanda Creech. Baylea has been a 4 year letterwinner in volleyball as well as a varsity cheerleader for one year. Baylea has been an all conference athlete for three years. She has 490 career kills, 48 aces (accounting for 219 points on serve), 123 blocks, and 157 digs. She has been academic all conference for three years. She has been a team captain. She has had the highest gpa on the team for three years. She has received MVP and mental attitude. She has received Gold team for academic all state She has been an Indiana All star She also led our Regional championship team and our back to back sectional championship team. She excels in the classroom as she is currently ranked 1st out of 106 with a 4. 2615 gpa. She is national honors society president She participates in NIVA. She has also volunteered in Feed my Starving children, Gymtown Pantry, and Life Skills Fall Fest. Baylea’s favorite memory is winning Regionals last year and how happy they all were. No one thought it was possible for Jimtown to do that and they were proven wrong. Coach Stose, "Baylea’s season is a true testament to her hard work, dedication, and positive attitude. After an off-season injury that could have easily derailed her year, she committed herself fully to recovery and came back stronger than ever. Not only did she return to her previous form, but she showed tremendous growth throughout the season—finishing with 159 kills, 34 blocks, and 20 aces. What truly sets Baylea apart is her positive presence on the court. She plays with contagious energy that lifts her teammates, keeps morale high, and brings confidence to every rotation. Whether she’s celebrating a big point or encouraging someone after a mistake, Baylea’s leadership and enthusiasm help set the tone for our team. Her competitive spirit, combined with her ability to keep the team focused and united, makes her an invaluable part of our success. We are simply a different team when Baylea is on the court." Baylea plans to attend Olivet Nazarene University and play volleyball there as well as major in Biology with plans to become a dermatologist. Elliott DiPiro - Soccer Elliott Dipiro is a Senior at Jimtown High School she is the daughter of Geoff and Kellie DiPiro Elliott has played soccer and track for us and will be presenting us in Soccer today. Elliott has been a great leader and huge part of both programs both as an athlete and a leader She has been team captain for both track and soccer. In Soccer Elliott has been a 4 year varsity starter. In soccer this season, she is all conference, senior captain, 12 goals, 10 assists ranked her 3rd in conference for assists and 5th in conference in goals. Elliott is a team player first and foremost and is a great teammate who puts others first. - This has helped our soccer program tremendously and has shown up in wins/losses as well as team camaraderie. She has 35 career goals and 22 assists. She has been a part of a program record 38-21-4 during her time at Jimtown. In track she has been a 3 year letter winner. 2 time team captain - soon to be three. She scored 44 points and finished 5th in the conference last spring. She has received the Mental attitude award in both soccer and track. Coach Kerrn, “ Elliott is a true extension of the coaching staff and a perfect example of what we want our student athletes to develop into as a member of the JHS track and field team. She always puts her teammates before herself and will do whatever it takes so the team can succeed.” She has been all conference and academic all conference, and academic all state in soccer. Her favorite memory is winning the conference in soccer last season. She is a great student in the classroom. She is currently ranked 7th out of 106 students and has a 4.1345. She is part of our National Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society, and Rising Stars of Indiana She is also in our Hope Squad - which is a student selected by their peers to help students who may be struggling emotionally. She volunteers at Feed my starving children and the Gymtown Pantry. Coach Fairchild,” Elliott has grown to be a great leader and well respected individual and I could not be more proud of her. Her grit and determination to keep on going through pain and injury is second to none as it seems she dealt with it all year. She has been asked to play forward, midfield, and defense and shows her versatility to be good wherever we need it the most. She does amazing in the classroom, at work, and in all the volunteer programs she is involved in. Her teammates and classmates love her and it shows as she won homecoming queen as well. She is certainly loved and will certainly be missed. Keep that goofiness as long as possible and may our future bring great things. Elliott plans on going to college to study speech and language pathology. Chase Coughenour - Football Chase Coughenour is a Senior. He is the son of Dustin and Tiffany Coughenour. Chase has participated in football and track for Jimtown. He is a four year letter winner in football. This past season he was one of our main ball carriers. He had 113 carries for 592 yards. That is 5.2 yards per carry. 2 touchdowns. He was also a frequent returner on kickoffs. He was part of our conference championships in 2022 and 2024. In track, he is a three year - soon to be 4 year letter winner. He was an indoor state qualifier in the 4 by 200 twice and 4 by 400 Chase is also outstanding in the classroom. He is currently ranked 18 out of 106 with a 3.9 GPA. He has been academic all conference for two seasons in football and one season in track. He has been in honor roll all four years thus far. He is a part of DECA and Student Council.. He has volunteered at Feed my starving children, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and Toys for tots. Coach Vincent, “ Chase is a quiet leader who lets his effort and toughness speak for him. He is strong willed, determined, and the kind of player every coach loves to have in their program. His consistency and example made a real impact on our team this season.” Chases favorite memory is creating a pillow fort that spanned across two rooms at indoor state his Sophomore year. He does not have a school yet but plans on studying business in college. Dalton Cook - Tennis Dalton Cook is a Senior at Jimtown High School. He is the son of Todd and Gretchen Cook. Dalton has played both tennis and baseball for the Jimmies and is representing tennis today. He has also played a year of cross country and basketball earning a varsity letter every year he has played a sport in high school. He is a 4 year letterwinner in tennis. He is a 2x all conference member. He was part of our conference championship team in 2024. He was our mental attitude award winner as well as winning MVP in tennis. He finished 12-10 on the season. He battled in many games against a few 1 singles players that made it far in the tournament. Coach Firstenberger, “ What has impressed me most with Dalton has been his poise. Playing 1 singles is not easy, you face the best of each team we play, and Dalton worked well in this capacity, playing each of his opponents with respect and a strong desire to win. HIs work ethic is strong, and I am proud of how he represented Jimtown in this position. In baseball, he is also a 3 year soon to be 4 year letter winner. He was all conference honorable mention in the NIC and all conference last season in the INSC. Dalton has been our starting shortstop and top pitcher for the past two seasons. Dalton has a career batting average of 364, 32 rbis, 50 runs, 7 doubles, and 20 stolen bases. Last season he batted 346 with 26 rbis, 30 runs, 4 doubles, and 12 stolen bases. Pitching he has an 11-3 career record with a 1.66 era, with 108 strikeouts and only 21 walks. Last season, he was 6-1 with a 1.47 era with 40 strikeouts and only 4 walks. He was part of our conference and sectional championship baseball team last spring. Coach Squibb, “ Dalton Cook exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated athlete and an outstanding teammate. Through relentless hard work, he consistently strives to improve. His leadership extends beyond the field - he leads by example, showing up early, staying late, taking care of the mound, and supporting teammates. Known for his positive attitude, unselfish play, and athletic accomplishments, Dalton brings out the best in himself and more importantly those around him.” Dalton is a fantastic student ranking 28 out of 106 with a 3.72 GPA. He is vice president of our National Honors Society. He has volunteered at Feed my starving children and Gymtown Pantry. Dalton’s favorite memories are pitching a complete game win against Penn - winning 2-1 and winning sectional last season. He is not sure on his plans after high school.
