The Jimtown boys track team defeated Mishawaka Marian 79 to 50 led by some unlikely sources. Freshman Yvens Reisacher won both throwing events–the first time in his high school carreer that he has won either. Caaden Beck, our top high jumper attempted long jump for only the second time and won with leap over 20 feet. Nate Hochstetler took home first in the 1600 meter run, though it is only the second time he has participated in it this season. Alex Hohl took home firsts in his usual events–both hurdle races. He also anchored a victorious 400 meter relay team along with Shawn Lange, Tony Pletcher and Oscar Zelaya. Tony also took first in high jump. Dylan Runyan had his best effort of the year in winning pole vault. The 3200 meter relay team of Eli Dillenbeck, Jared Lyle, Seth Grimm and Corbin Russell had an easy win to start the meet.
It was senior night and the seniors came to perform. D.J. Pontius had his best long jump of the year; Jose Trigo had a personal record in the 400; and Mikah Mora had his best 100 meter dash time. Nate Hochstetler had a first in the 1600 and second in the 800. Mike Laws had the longest discus throw of his career but barely scratched negating the throw. The coaching staff is very proud of the seniors’ efforts.
