The Jimtown boys track team had its best effort of the season in placing third at the Concord’s Kelly Relays. Many Jimmies had personal records and season records, but what impressed the coaching staff most was the effort and enthusiasm with which the athletes performed.
The Kelly Relays are scored completely on team efforts in each event. Even the field events are scored by team: Each athletes best effort is added together to create a team place.
The Discus team — consisting of Mikey Laws, Yvens Reisacher and A.J. Schneider– took first place led by Mikey’s best throw of the season. The Shuttle Hurdle relay team also took first as Trey Washington and Riley Lundy–in their first hurdle races– helped experienced hurdler Nick Snider and Alex Hohl bring home the first place medals. Personal and season records were turn in by: Jonas Waugh in Long Jump; Aaron Reverman in High Jump; Dylan Runyan in Pole Vault, Roy Thomas in Shot Put. Nate Hochsetler, Jared Lyle, Corbin Russell, Andrew O’Brien, John Sandoval, Shawn Lange, Caadedn Beck, Tony Pletcher , Oscar Zelaya and Ethan Devol all had person best best effort in various relays on the track.
This young Jimmie team is coming into its own at he perfect time as the NIC and sectionals await.
