Saturday afternoon the Lady Jimmies looked to bounce back after a tough home opener earlier in the week. The Jimmies came out completely focused and fresh for their game against River Forest. Abigail Sanders got on the scoresheet first for Jimtown after receiving a pass off a quick restart from senior center back Mikayla Morales. Senior forward Grace Crocker also got her first goal of the season after finishing a cross from freshman Macey Slabaugh. Right before halftime, midfielder Renee Anderson scored a scrambler in the box to put the Jimmies up 3-0, her first of the season. Goalkeeper Abigail Snider recorded three saves in the Jimtown win over River Forest.
“The girls worked extremely hard all week to prepare for this match. With a few injuries to start the season some of our younger players have been asked to step up big time, which they did Saturday. Our shape looked a lot better and the girls were able to get organized quickly which was one of our problems in game one. Total team effort is what helped us come out on top against a solid River Forest side.” -Coach Kalen
The Jimtown Lady Jimmies are back at it again Monday night at home against Clay Colonials. Kickoff is set for 5:30.
