Last night Jimtown defeated conference opponent, Clay High School 3-1. Clay capitalized on a Jimtown mistake early in the game to go up 1-0 which seemed to wake the Jimmies up. Shortly after conceding a goal the Lady Jimmies went on the attack and earned a penalty kick after a hard tackle in the box by a Clay defender. Junior defender, Mikayla Morales, stepped up and put the ball in the back of the net to even the score 1-1. In the second half junior midfielder, Manese Reisacher, connected with Grace Crocker for her 6th goal of the season. Shortly after the second goal, Jade Rufino had a tremendous solo goal, her first of the season, to put the Lady Jimmies up 3-1.
“This is a special group of girls and it was a pleasure to watch them play tonight. The focus and energy the girls bring day after day to training is starting to really show. As always we will use this game as a learning experience as we prepare for sectionals next week at Plymouth.” Jimtown will take on John Glenn Thursday night at home and finish the regular season on the road Saturday against Victory Christian Chapel.
