The Jimtown Jimmies kicked off the 2021 Spring Season last night after missing the entire 2020 Spring Season at Lakeland. That bats were electric last night as the Jimmies tallied 16 runs on 11 hits.

Braden Garner, Cooper Frank, Nick Carithers, and Hunter Konrath all had 2 RBI’s to lead the Jimmies at the plate. The Jimmies put the pressure on Lakeland from the first inning on, scoring in each of the 7 frames. Jimtown utilized smart base running to also apply pressure and force a couple of errors on the Lancers to push a few runs across.

Braden Garner started the game on the mound as Lakeland made him battle throughout the night. B. Garner went only 2 innings surrendering 6 runs on 6 hits before giving the ball to his brother Sam Garner to pitch the final 5 innings. S. Garner gave up only 2 hits and struck out 7 Lakeland hitters while surrendering only 2 runs through the final 5 innings.

The JV Jimmies had a strong showing as well, beating Lakeland 19-4.

The Jimmies will look to clean some things up over Spring Break before coming back on April 12th @ Booster Field for a NIC clash with crosstown Elkhart High School at 5 pm. April 13th will be our Pediatric Cancer Night verse Goshen High School where we will be collecting funds for local families battling pediatric cancer.
