The Jimtown Jimmies battled a tough Riley team, but came up short Friday night 14-13. The Jimmies took their opening drive and scored on a 43 yard touchdown run by Trey Washington to take a 7-0 lead more than halfway through the first quarter. The Wildcats answered right back with a drive of their own to tie the game up at 7-7 late in the first quarter. The two evenly matched teams battled back and fourth throughout the rest of the first half, and went into half time knotted at 7-7.

The Jimmies had a very nice defensive effort in the middle quarters and helped set up the offense with great field position multiple times. Jimtown was able to capitalize on one of them when Trey Washington scored from 9 yards out on the last play of the 3rd quarter, to take a 13-7 lead. Riley responded with a long drive of their own to start the 4th quarter and moved deep into Jimmie territory. Facing 4th and goal from the 16 yard line, Riley went with a pass over the middle and completed it to move ahead 14-13. The Jimmies couldn muster more than a couple first downs on the next drive and the Wildcats ran the clock out to seal the 14-13 win.

The Jimmies are back in action Friday night Oct. 5th @ Bremen. Kickoff is slated for 7pm.
