The Jimtown Jimmies (2-2, 2-0 NIC South) raced out to a quick lead and held on for a 27-10 victory over the Glenn Falcons Friday night.
The Jimmies scored twice in the opening 5 minutes of the game off of a 52 yard punt return from Dustin Whitman, and a touchdown pass from Clay Campbell to Whitman. Braden Brubaker had his first career touchdown late in the first half on a beautiful 27 yard catch and run to put Jimtown up 20-3 at the break.
The Jimmies offensive line broke through in the 4th quarter, and put Glenn away on a Trey Washington 6 yard run to put the Jimmies ahead 27-3.
Jimtown´s defense had a bend but don´t break mentality and held Glenn to 3 points until late in the 4th quarter to post the final score.
The Jimmies are visiting the Marian Knights next Friday in a battle that has major conference ramifications as both teams are undefeated in the NIC South. Kickoff is 7pm.
