The Jimtown Jimmies (1-2) fell to Angola (3-0) 31-14 Friday night at Knepp Field. The Jimmies started out strong after a 36-yard touchdown run by Ethan Devol in the second quarter, and took a 7-3 lead into halftime.
Angola came out aggressive in the second half and had two touchdown runs in the third quarter to take a brief 17-7 lead. On the next drive, Devol again ripped off a 51-yard run to set the Jimmies up with 1st and goal. Two plays later Devol punches it in from 5 yards out and the Hornets has a 17-14 lead to start the 4th quarter.
Jimtown started to fade in the 4th due to injuries and the speed of the Hornets. Angola scores twice in the 4th to seal the 31-14 victory.
The Jimmies will be back in action in their first road game of the season Friday night September 7th @ John Glenn. Kickoff is 7pm.
