The Jimmies (1-1, 1-0) used a very physical running attack to wear down Washington 31-13 at TCU School Field on Friday night. Jimtown rushed for 283 yards, including 189 and two TDs from Ethan Devol, in route to an NIC South victory.
The Jimmies took control early on a opening drive TD by Tony Pletcher, who recovered a fumble in the endzone for the game’s first tally. Then Devol busted loose for a 58 yard touchdown midway through the 1st quarter to make the score 14-0.
The Panthers answered back, by having a long touchdown run and a scoring drive to make it 14-13 late in the 2nd quarter. Issac Daniels connected on a 43 yard FG as time expired in the 1st half to make it 17-13 Jimmies at half.
Two drives is all Jimtown needed in the second half. Both of them were long scoring drives finished off by a Clay Campbell 7 yard keeper, and a 3 yard run by Devol.
The Jimmies are back in action next Friday night against Elkhart Central at Rice Field. Game time is set for 7pm.
