Jimtown used a tremendous team effort to overcome a slow start to defeat John Glenn 6-4. The first time through the lineup was a struggle for the Jimmies with 5 of the 9 batters going down via a strikeout but the 2nd and 3rd time through the lineup the Jimmies made an adjustment and broke through. Leading the sticks were Sammy Schwartz 3-4 with a double and Dustin Whitman 2-4. Clay Campbell and Ethan Allen also added doubles. Cameron Zellers earned the W on the mound on his birthday and Brandon Coble came in for the save. Dustin Whitman added a tremendous defensive play with a Willie Mays catch on a pop up to shallow left center he turned and threw the runner out at home who was attempting to tag to get out of a bases-loaded jam in the 5th. Everyone found a way to contribute to the victory whether coming in to pinch run or being added as a defensive substitution late in the game. Jimmies finish NIC play with an 8-11 (5-7) record. Jimtown will wrap up the regular season with a 10 am game @ Goshen on Saturday. JV Jimmies defeated Glenn 14-4, they will wrap up the season @ the New Prairie Tournament Saturday.
