Winter Sports Season Draws to a Close at Awards Night

Hunter Watts = Jimtown State Champion

Jimtown’s Hunter Watts has ended his fantastic junior year in Jimtown Wrestling as the IHSAA 120 pound state champion!! In addition to Hunter’s heart stopping 2-1 victory under the lights, the Jimmies got an 8th place finish from Matt Gimson at 132 and a 5th place finish from Connor Gimson at 138.   The state championship

3 Jimmies Punch Their Ticket

Jimtown High school qualified 4 wrestlers for the IHSAA Fort Wayne semi-state this weekend, 3 of those individuals reached the finals and punched their tickets to the state tournament this Friday at Bankers life fieldhouse. 120 Hunter Watts picked up 2 tech falls to advance to the finals and secure his spot at state. 126

Jimtown Jimmies wrestler finish in 3rd place at the Northern Indiana Conference tournament held at Mishawaka High School. 4 Jimmie Wrestlers Eclipse the Century Mark in Wins

Four Jimtown Jimmie wrestlers have eclipsed the 100 win mark for their wrestling career. The first wrestler to accomplish the feat this season was #1 state ranked 120lb Junior Hunter Watts, on December 14th Watts won by fall in the second period over South Bend St.Joe. Jimtown’s Hunter Watts is the Back-to-Back Al Smith Champion

The Al Smith wrestling tourney is hosted every year by Mishawaka High School as they have done since the 70’s.  The tournament is named after now-retired, hall-of-fame Mishawaka Wrestling Coach Al Smith and is held every year over the Christmas break.  This tournament is widely considered one of the toughest, most prestigious mid-season wrestling tournaments
